Virginia's Return to School Plan
Recover, Redesign, Restart, 2020 is a guiding document for Virginia school divisions developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in preparation for schools reopening. It addresses all facets of school operations and includes key questions, embedded links to resources, and recommendations for school leaders within the reopening parameters set forth by Ralph Governor Northam.
Mary Peake Award for Excellence in Education Equity

August 1 is now the deadline to nominate educators, policy makers, education advocacy groups, and stakeholder organizations for the Mary Peake Award for Excellence in Education Equity. The award will honor Mrs. Peake’s legacy of courage and determination with the annual recognition of outstanding work toward our shared goal to advance equitable outcomes for all students.

This statewide initiative will connect every student with the knowledge, skills and real-world experience necessary to thrive in the economy of the future.
Graduation & Continuity of Learning Guidance
Guidance on Graduation Requirements, Awarding of Credits, and Continuity of Learning provides school divisions information and solutions around graduation requirements, promotion, new instruction, and ease of process. The intent is not to over burden or restrict our school divisions but to provide hope, engagement, and a measure of normalcy during this period of unprecedented uncertainty.
